On 6th September, AIESEC in SLIIT hosted Webinar 2: From Problem to Opportunity, the second phase of our webinar series under IntelliCon '26, bringing together curious minds ready to rethink the way they see challenges. We were honored to have two incredible speakers join us for the session: Dr. Dhanushi Hettiarachchi — Medical Doctor, Award-Winning MedTech Entrepreneur & AI-in-Healthcare Innovator, Co-Founder & CEO of Ophtha Innovations, Global Finalist at the AI for Good Innovation Factory 2026 Dr. Nilantha Perera — Senior Lecturer in Marketing Management at the University of Kelaniya, with expertise in Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Business Strategy, and a PhD in Business from Taylor's University, Malaysia The conversation explored how everyday problems can become the starting point for meaningful innovation, the mindset shift needed to spot opportunity where others see obstacles, and how combining technical insight with business strategy creates solutions that actually work. Our speakers shared real examples from healthcare and business, showing what it takes to move an idea from a "problem" to something worth building. A special appreciation to Kayusha Waragoda, Organizing Committee Vice President – Partnership Development, for hosting the session and guiding the conversation so smoothly from beginning to end.
